Last month, our TACO president, an acronym for Trump Always Chickens Out, was leaving Turkey after a NATO meeting. Our leader did chicken out. Apparently, Israeli security picked up a possible plan to shoot down Air Force One when Trump left Turkey. There seemed to be some serious questions about the veracity of whether Iran was going to assassinate Trump.

However, Trump was responsible for killing not merely Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, but also Hossein Salami, the Chief of Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Head of the Revolutionary Guard's missile program, and Ali Rashid, both of whom were high-ranking military staff members.

I can see why Trump’s security team thought it best to assume the worst even though Israel was the only one that bought into the alarm. Therefore, Trump’s security people came up with a ruse. They planned, in plain sight, for Trump, some of his staff, and a group of reporters to board Air Force One. While waiting on the tarmac, a catering truck drove up to the other side of the plane. A large container was returned to the truck after supplying food and drinks to Air Force One. The container wasn’t empty; it had Trump hiding inside.

Then the plane took off without Trump. Air Force One was a decoy. This is a photo of Trump enjoying chowing down on his favorite meal in the food container while Air Force One readies for takeoff. I don’t have access to the video, but this is a photo of him eating.

While the decoy was a clever idea, it raises a major ethical issue. Trump approved using Air Force One as a decoy. If the Iranians did shoot it down, several dozen lives would have been lost. Many of whom were not told that they were risking their lives to protect Trump. None of the reporters and some of Trump’s staff had any idea that some member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps might have had a shoulder-fired rocket launcher to shoot down Air Force One.

Had there been a shoulder-fired rocket launcher, there would be an ethical dilemma for most people. However, Trump would not have recognized the morality of several dozen people dying to save him. Trump actually would have jumped at the possibility of having survived a shoulder-fired rocket that destroyed Air Force One.

Trump spends his time on his revenge tour. He would threaten a day of reckoning and retribution to those who don’t support him. Our TACO president possesses a moral compass...everything he sees as being important is based upon him. If it isn’t about him, it is not relevant.

As the decoy flight story unfolded, I thought about I, Robot. Detective Spooner, Will Smith, talks to V.I.K.I., Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence. Essentially, V.I.K.I. is the president of the robots, and the robots are MAGA Republicans.

V.I.K.I. has power and wants more control. V.I.K.I. is merely a more advanced version of Trump. Spooner, Dr. Susan Calvin, and Sonny destroy V.I.K.I. In the closing scene, Sonny tells Spooner and the doctor about his dream of the man on the hill.

Methinks that each of us can be the person on the hill. It is an ethical choice. Trump is the polar opposite. We have the Kierkegaardian either/or choice in life. Life is to be lived to assist others, or life is all about me. Choose wisely.
