Caution To the World
Several months before Sen. John McCain died at the age of 81, he told his family that he didn’t want Trump at his funeral. He and Trump didn’t get along, mainly because McCain voted against repealing Obamacare and didn’t see McCain as a war hero because he was a POW. Trump avoided the Vietnam War because of a bone spur. When McCain died on August 26, Trump had the flag over the White House lowered to half-staff for a part of the day and raised and then lowered again on the 27th.
When Pope Francis died, Trump had someone capable of writing to compose the proclamation, and he signed it.
As a mark of respect for the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, on the day of interment.
Then Trump wrote on his Truth Social, “Melania and I will be going to the funeral of Pope Francis, in Rome.” Then he added, “We look forward to being there!” Can you tell me the difference between the proclamation and social media regarding style and vocabulary?
So, why did Trump quibble over flying the flag at half-staff, not even for a full day, when McCain died and will fly it at half-staff for six days? They had issues with each other going back to Trump’s first term.

Which of these two men seems stressed? Pope Francis spoke out about Trump’s building the wall at our Southern border starting in 2016. When he was in Mexico, the Pope said, “A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.” He also criticized Trump’s America First when people should share with each other.
Additionally, addressing climate change is another aspect of mutuality that is not a mindset of Trump and his America First agenda.
The question that lurks in the world’s mind is whether Trump will behave as he did at the NATO Conference in Brussels.
However, the Swiss Guard is preparing for the funeral of Pope Francis.
