The Worm Has Turned
But Have You?

I have a strange habit when I write another article; I will often allude to a previous article. In The Equalizer 2, Robert McCall, played by Denzel Washington, is a former CIA Black Ops squad member. Interestingly, McCall spends his retirement years doing what he did professionally. On one of his many attempts to right the wrongs of society, he assists Miles, a young artist. In response, Miles paints his saying on one of the outside walls of an apartment complex.

Miles’ one-liner

Miles’ one-liner

Miles wanted to express gratitude to McCall and the tenants in the apartment. That one-liner should be the way we view the world and how we treat each other. However, there is a long litany of Americans who reject that thought in their lives.

America is facing the chaos created by the world’s greatest narcissist in human history. Our wannabe autocratic leader, aka Donald the Dumb, is on his holy war of retribution. If you question his inane mindset, you might be added to the blacklist of individuals, colleges and universities, companies, media outlets, and law firms. The ever-growing list of targets facing retribution is nearly 500.

Retribution And the list goes on and on....

And the list goes on and on....

The entire State of Minnesota is in Trump's crosshairs as a huge number of targets of retribution. Our macho present has warned them recently: “FEAR NOT, GREAT PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA, THE DAY OF RECKONING & RETRIBUTION IS COMING!”

Let me get this straight. Our president was found guilty two years ago on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Prosecutors proved that Trump paid a $130,000 hush-money payment to Stormy Daniels. Additionally, David Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer, helped broker the deal with Daniels and arranged to “catch and kill” a story about an affair between Trump and Karen McDougal. Pecker was granted immunity in the federal investigation in exchange for his testimony before a grand jury.

Trump has bankrupted six of the companies that he ran, which included Trump Taj Mahal in 1991, Trump Castle Hotel and Casino in 1992, Trump Plaza Casino in 1992, Trump Plaza Hotel in 1992, Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts in 2004, and Trump Entertainment Resorts in 2009.

These were other companies that also went belly-up financially due to his leadership. They included Trump Airlines, which took off slowly in 1988 and crash landed in 1992. Trump started Trump Mortgage, LLC, which lasted as long as his magazine, Trump World, lasted, 18 months. Our very stable genius lost $40,000,000 in a civil suit regarding Trump University. Trump Steaks didn’t make it, nor did Trump Steakhouse in Las Vegas. GoTrump, which was a travel Internet site, lasted for a year.

And Trump sees himself as the CEO of the United States, which has the largest national debt in our history, more than $38 trillion. All that I know in my financial world is how much I owe on my home equity loan.

Then there are the Jack Smith January 6 insurrection and the Mar-a-Lago classified documents. Additionally, the Epstein files still loom over Trump. Trump wants to control and be remembered by putting his name on everything.

Trump said police should shoot shoplifters and claimed his political adversaries are subhuman “vermin” who must be “rooted out.” The similarities between Trump and Hitler are obvious. In Trump’s world, Hispanics, blacks, and people from the Middle East are vermin. Hitler and Trump believed that whites are superior to all others.

Trump has decided not to invade Greenland and to annex Canada for the moment. Nonetheless, he has taken over Venezuela and is eyeing Iran.

As Americans are turning more and more to holding Trump accountable for all his wrongdoing, the worm has turned more and more.

The worm has indeed turned in the bitter cold of Minnesota’s winter. It reminds me of John Heywood’s proverb written in England in 1546.

To whom do lions cast their gentle looks?
Not to the beast that would usurp their den.
The smallest worm will turn being trodden on,
And doves will peck in safeguard of their brood.

Another way to express the turning of the worm is George Will mentioning that Trump won’t attend the Super Bowl next Sunday. Trump says he is too busy to attend. Perhaps, he doesn’t want to hear the deafening boos. Additionally, more and more Americans are saying: “Alea iacta est.” Some Americans use the translation of that phrase, “The die is cast.” America has crossed the Rubicon, and Trump fears and knows that his clock is ticking.

Listen to a part of what George Will said about Trump and America.

The people of Minnesota have stood up for weeks in the bitter, icy winter weather. The question remains for the rest of America that still supports Trump. History will remember Trump, and history will remember when the rest of his base finally rejects him. It has taken years for the Republicans in Congress to stop kneeling before Donald the King.
